The Gunners climbed up to fifth place following a 1-0 win over Watford at the Emirates Stadium, thanks to the third goal from Emile Smith Rowe in five games.

As Arsenal started brightly, Saka’s goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review. When Danny Rose fouled Alexandre Lacazette on 36 minutes, the Gunners had a golden chance to break the deadlock. But, Foster raced to his right to save Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s penalty.

Emile Smith Rowe stroked a lovely shot into the far corner after a mazy run by Ben White on 56 minutes to give Arsenal the lead.

Aubameyang’s touch on Martin Odegaard’s 73rd-minute shot was ruled out for offside before Watford’s Joshua King nearly leveled from a tight angle with the goal open.

Juraj Kucka was sent off late in the game for a second bookable offense. But Arsenal held on to climb up to 20 points, six points behind leaders Chelsea. Watford drops to 17th place with 10 points

Barcelona planning emergency move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameayng?

Barcelona is apparently looking for a striker, and Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is on their radar.

Barcelona is anxious to sign a striker following Sergio Aguero’s layoff due to a heart ailment, according to Catalan newspaper El Nacional. Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the Catalan giants’ targets. Aubameyang arrived at Arsenal in January 2018 and made an immediate impact.

The forward was nearly incomparable in the first 30 months of his Arsenal career. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Harry Kane were perhaps the only attacking players on his level in the Premier League.

However, the last year has been challenging for Aubameyang. And his troubles have paralleled Arsenal’s. Having said that, the 32-year-old has worked hard to regain his form.

Aubameyang has had a solid start to the 2021/22 season, tallying seven goals and two assists in ten games. His improving form appears to have piqued the interest of Barcelona.

Following Sergio Aguero’s forced layoff due to a heart ailment, Barcelona has no choice but to dip its toes into the transfer market

The injury is supposedly gonna keep the Argentine forward out for at least three months. This leaves the Blaugrana low on attacking alternatives. Especially with Luuk de Jong underwhelming since joining on loan from Sevilla.

As a result, it is no surprise that Barcelona is looking to sign a striker in January. And president Joan Laporta is personally driving the Catalan giants’ effort to sign a center forward this winter. Aubameyang and Edinson Cavani are emerging as the top choices.

Cavani, like Aubameyang, has been strongly linked with Barcelona recently. Both seasoned players are realistic targets for the club. And Barcelona is willing to spend roughly €20 million on a striker in the January transfer window.

What remains to be seen is if Barcelona’s €20m bid for Aubameyang is enough to entice him away from Arsenal. or if they are compelled to begin an effort for Cavani instead.

With Arsenal making significant progress, it would not be shocking if they refuse to negotiate a deal with Barcelona for the 32-year-old attacker.

Mikel Arteta reveals why he paid £30 million to recruit Aaron Ramsdale

Mikel Arteta raised eyebrows when he spent £30 million on Aaron Ramsdale in the summer

But the 23-year-old has shined for the Gunners this season. Arteta stated that Aaron Ramsdale was brought to Arsenal because of his ability to keep calm under pressure. The Gunners won 2-0 against Leicester last weekend. This victory was all thanks to a string of eye-catching saves from Ramsdale.

Ramsdale’s perfect performance at the King Power Stadium justified the £30 million spent on him during the summer.

“One of the things that I was most impressed with, every time I watched a game he played in his temperament.” – said Mikel Arteta.

“I wanted to watch a lot of clips and moments after he was conceding a goal, making a mistake or sort of difficult moments.

“And that’s one of the big reasons why we made the decision to sign him to play with us.”

Ramsdale has already won over the Arsenal fans by joining in on shouts and engaging in some friendly banter with fans at Leicester last weekend

On whether Ramsdale’s personality had a role in his signing, Arteta added:

“I think yes. This character was able to do that. But at the moment we are working and it is absolutely business.

“At that point, there are no laughs and there is no room for complacency. It’s just about winning.”

Due to Ramsdale’s excellent form, former first-choice keeper Bernd Leno has become an increasingly distant figure at the Emirates.

Arteta, on the other hand, is adamant that despite sitting on the bench, the German international has remained professional, and he is eager to encourage Ramsdale to continue his excellent form.

“Obviously, he’s disappointed, and he should be,” he added. “Because he wants to play and is used to doing so.

“But at the same time, what he needs to do is raise his level. And he’s going to raise Aaron’s level, so everyone is performing really well.

“A big part of that is because Bernd is next to him, trying to help him, trying to support everything in training. And trying to make him a better goalkeeper.

“That is exactly what we want.”

Arsenal £22.9 million transfer boost according to the Premier League salary table

Arsenal will profit from cutting various high-earners from their roster at the conclusion of the season, according to the Premier League salary table

Four first-team players are ready to leave when their contracts expire. There are alternative Premier League standings in which Man. United is at the top. And Arsenal is ahead of Tottenham Hotspur. According to Spotrac, the Red Devils lead the way ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool in the player salary rankings. This is due to having the division’s highest-paid player, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese superstar joined United from Juventus in the summer transfer window. It’s safe to say he’s already justified his £510,000-a-week salary with a string of vital goals.

Manchester United now spends a whopping £226.7 million every year on its outstanding team

Besides Ronaldo, this also includes Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho.

This number eclipses Arsenal’s player wage budget of £99.8 million this season.

At the moment, the Gunners’ highest-paid player is captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Aubameyang earns £250,000 a week, and Thomas Partey follows by earning £50,000 less.

Alexandre Lacazette is surprisingly ranking third. This is noteworthy because Lacazette is set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. This saves Arsenal £9.4 million per year beginning July 1, 2022.

Lacazette isn’t the only first-teamer scheduled to leave in June

Eddie Nketiah, Sead Kolasinac, and Mohamed Elneny are also in the same situation. While the club will try to transfer the latter pair in January, none of the trio will be at Arsenal when the 2022/23 season begins.

As a result, the Gunners will save an additional £10.2 million based on the trio’s annual salary.

And it gets even better for the north London football club. Last month, football.london reported that a £12 million windfall may be on the way. That’s if Matteo Guendouzi and Dinos Mavropanos move to Marseille and Stuttgart at the conclusion of the season.

Taking the pair off the payroll would allow Arsenal to save an additional £3.3 million.

So, if the six players all leave next summer as projected, the Gunners will be able to save a yearly sum of £22.9m. An amount which might perhaps support transfers for a couple of incomings.
